Beijing (PingWest) – China’s first airport, Beijing Nanyuan Airport, south of Beijing, will shut down because a new airport will serve as a new hub for airline carriers.

Nanyuan Airport was built in 1907 and opened in 1910, seven years before the collapse of the Qing Dynasty.

The new Daxing Airport will begin operation by the end of September.
