Minecraft China Faces "Rectification"

Beijing (PingWest) – CCTV (China Central Television) reports that pornographic content exists in the online game Minecraft. Some players name online chat rooms with sexually suggestive content, tempting minors to enter. On April 12, the Minecraft China operation team issued an apology letter as well as rectification notice publicly.

Microsoft acquired Minecraft and its developer Mojang for $2.5 billion in 2015. Then, in 2017, Microsoft partnered with NetEase, one of the largest Internet and video game companies in China, to launch the free-to-play Minecraft China version. According to official statistics, Minecraft China has grabbed over 100 million registered users on mobile devices and PC.
