TikTok Shop improves shipping experience in Thailand through partnership with Flash Express

TikTok Shop, the e-commerce business of TikTok, recently formed a partnership with Thai logistic company Flash Express to offer year-round delivery for shoppers.

Flash Express, the door-to-door pickup and delivery service with over 12,000 stores covering all 77 provinces in Thailand, will be available for all merchants on TikTok Shop. The company, founded in 2017 and count Alibaba as an investor, currently ships over 1 million parcels per day, and offers COD(Cash-on-Delivery) as a payment method.

TikTok Shop was officially launched in April this year, with Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Philippines as pioneering markets. The e-commerce arm of TikTok is grasping the Southeast Asia market, a region home to 4 out of the top 10 countries with the most active TikTok users worldwide, and 5 out of top 10 countries with the highest retail e-commerce sales growth, according to the e-commerce logistics provider LOCAD.

In addition, Southeast Asian countries contribute 265 million active users to TikTok, topping the U.S. which has 152 million active users, based on TikTok’s potential advertising reach for users aged 18 and above, according to LOCAD.

In 2021, the number of internet users in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam reached 440 million, or about 75% of the total population of the six SEA countries. Internet economy in Southeast Asia will reach trillions of dollars, according to a report jointly published by Google, Temasek and Bain.

The E-commerce market in Southeast Asia is expected to grow to $234 billion by 2025, comparing to $120 billion in 2021, according to the same report.
