BEIJING (PingWest) — China’s telecommunication equipment manufacturer Huawei signed a strategic partnership agreement with Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission in “new infrastructure” at a Huawei Cloud Summit on Tuesday, July 28.
The two parties announced in-depth cooperations in “new infrastructure” including 5G and cloud computings, in a bid to promote the convergence of economic growth and digitalization and intelligentization of Shenzhen.
At the event, Huawei also announced the opening ceremony of Shenzhen Financing Information and Technology Innovation Center. The tech giant also reached an agreement with Longgang District Industrial Internet Innovation Center to promote the intelligentization of industrial enterprises and create a pilot innovation-driven district in China.
The goal of the partnership between the two parties is to build a smart city in all scenarios, mainly including public service, enterprise development, and city governance, which requires collaborations among government, enterprises and other sectors in the society.
Hou Jinlong, Senior Vice President at Huawei and President of Huawei’s Cloud and Computing Business Group, said at the event that Shenzhen’s stride to its 2.0 era needs to focus on foundation innovation and application. Shenzhen shall also take the great opportunity to develop AI, cloud, and 5G technologies to provide power for the city’s innovation and high-quality development.
