Alibaba Executive Jiang Fan Steps Down from Legal Person, President and General Manager of Ali Health’s Subsidiary

BEIJING (PingWest) — Alibaba’s executive Jiangfan, who was demoted due to personal scandal in April, stepped down from legal person, president and general manager of Ali Health Information Technology Ltd’s Subsidiary, named Hangzhou Defu Health Management Co. Ltd, according to JRJ.com, citing Tianyancha, Chinese leading search platform focused on business enterprises, shareholders, and affiliate relationships.

Jiang Fan was the youngest president of Alibaba’s key Tmall, Taobao, and Ali Health, and the legal person, president and general manager of Tmall in the past, but was found not in charge of the Ali Health system any more.

Jiang was widely seen as the successor to Alibaba’s current CEO Zhang Yong, but was demoted after an internet user whom Chinese Internet users identified as Jiang’s wife, posted on Sina Weibo that warned Chinese Internet celebrity Zhang Dayi to stay away from her husband.

More information on Tianyancha shows that Wang Qiang would replace Jiang. Additioanlly, Zhu Jian, Wang Xing resigned from a board and were replaced by Tu Yanwu and Miao Aishan.

Defu Health Management Co. Ltd was founded in January, 2020 with a registered capital of RMB 150,000. Its business scope includes health consulting (excluding diagnosis and treatment), technological services, development, consulting, exchange and promotion of technology. The company is wholly owned by Ali JK ZNS (HK) Limited.

Ali Health announced in February 2020 that it entered share purchase agreement with Ali JK ZNS Ltd to acquire 100% the latter.
