NASA Asks All Its Employees and Contractors to Work Remotely

NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine released an announcement Tuesday, saying that all NASA employees and contractors will move mandatory work online until further notice. The move took effect immediately.

Mission-essential personnel needs to contact their supervisors to be granted access onsite.

After two employees were tested positive for the coronavirus, the civil space agency of the U.S. government took step to prevent further spreading.

“This evening, NASA leaders has decided to elevate al the centers and facilitates to Stage 3 of NASA’s Response Framework,” the statement said。

Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Google and many more companies have asked their employees to work from home due to the coronavirus pandemic.

48 U.S. states have declared a state of emergency by March 17.

Total confirmed cases jumped to 4,226 and the death toll reached 75 as of March 17 at 4p.m according to U.S. CDC.

All 50 states and D.C. have confirmed cases of the coronavirus as of Wednesday 12p.m. Eastern time, according to The Washington Post.
