Alibaba to Offer Consumers with Billions of Subsidies During Spring Festival

Beijing (PingWest)—Taobao, a Chinese online shopping website owned by Alibaba Group, announced an exclusive e-commerce partnership with CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala on January 11.

On the evening of the gala, Taobao will set up a featured homepage to enable users to participate in the “Clear Your Shopping Cart on Taobao” raffle while watching the annual TV show. The company will award each raffle winner up to 49,999 RMB ($7,250) worth of goods on the platform.

Juhuasuan, Alibaba’s flash sales and marketing platform, will also slash prices on selected goods worth a total of 2 billion RMB ($290 billion) during the holiday.
