BEIJING (PingWest) –Tesla begins deliveries of the Model 3 in China today. Customers will receive their cars today at Jingang Experience Center, Beijing.

Tesla Model 3, the fourth mass-production model manufactured and sold by Tesla, is a compact luxury all-electric four-door sedan. Three versions are available for Chinese customers: Long-Range Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive Performance, Long-Range Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive and Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive. The Model 3 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 3.3 seconds.

Tesla released the first electric Roadster in 2012. Tesla’s flagship electric car Model S entered the market in 2012 and the Chinese market in 2014.

Tesla has over 1,850 Superchargers in China, with the number still growing.

Tesla Model 3 is produced in Fremont, California, but Tesla has started construction on a new factory in Shanghai, China, known as Gigafactory 3. The construction will be complete by mid 2019.
