Nobel Prize in Chemistry Awarded for Work on Lithium-Ion Batteries

Beijing (PingWest) — The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2019 was awarded jointly to John B. Goodenough, M. Stanley Whittingham and Akira Yoshino for the development of lithium-ion batteries.

The three people will share  the 9 million Swedish kronor ($906,000) prize for their work on "the development of lithium ion batteries," according to the Nobel committee.
