Qualcomm Is Waiting for the US Commerce Department for Approval to Sell Key Technology to Huawei

Beijing (PingWest) Chipmaker Qualcomm announced that it has already applied for a license to continue its business relationship with Chinese telecom giant Huawei. The giant has been put on an entity list that bars American firms from doing business with it unless they have an exclusive license. 

During an interview with the press at the IFA consumer electronics being held in Berlin, Cristiano Amon, president of Qualcomm, stated that his company is awaiting approval from US Commerce Department to start selling technology to Huawei. The American government has given reprieve to Huawei till mid-November this year to continue buying critical components from American firms for its laptops and smartphones.
