BEIJING (PingWest) - US HDD maker Western Digital joint the team of Huawei drop. CEO of Western Digital Steve Milligan said the company has suspended the partnership with Huawei and stopped shipments to Huawei on the second day after Huawei is added to the ‘Entity List’, according to Nikkei Asian Review on Tuesday, June 11.

The company just signed a partnership agreement with Huawei in April and the two parties aimed to cooperate in hard drives, nonvolatile flash storage technology. Additionally, Western Digital has been supplying Huawei with flash memory for Huawei’s smartphones.

Although Huawei accounts for less than 10% Western Digital’s revenue, it is a ‘meaningful customer,’ said Milligan.

Additionally, Milligan said he has met with members of Trump Administration, such as Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin to explain Huawei’s importance to Western Digital and the boarder tech industry.
