China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) launched a new plan for boosting consumption today, one that pins a lot of hope on 5G and higher bandwidth devices.

The plan intends to speed up 5G licensing for commercial use in order to promote greater data consumption. More specifically, the plan supports cities in setting up information consumption experience centers, which could play a role in city tourism.

In the plan, the NDRC also encourages different regions to provide subsidies to AR/VR products, high-definition televisions, and set-top boxes.
