Beijing (PingWest) – After Google fell in behind the US government's ban on Huawei, top chipmakers including Intel, Qualcomm, Xilinx, and Broadcom have informed their employees they will not supply Huawei until further notice, according to Bloomberg.

Intel is a crucial supplier of server chips for Huawei; Qualcomm provides the company with processors and modems; Xilinx sells programmable chips for the company's networking business; and as for Broadcom, it is a supplier of switching chips.

Currently, Huawei is only allowed to utilize the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

In response to Google's restriction, Huawei announced that it will continue to provide security updates and after-sales services to all existing Huawei and Honor smartphone and tablet products, covering those that have been sold and that are still in stock globally.
