In August, Tesla nearly triple its sales from a month ago, data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showed.

The US carmaker delivered 76,965 vehicles in August, a 173% month-on-month increase, and Model Y established a monthly delivery record of 62,169 units, a 295% month-on-month increase.

BYD led the electric vehicle producers with 173,977 cars delivered in August, while Nio , Xpeng and Li Auto delivered 10,677, 9,578 and 4,571 vehicles, respectively.
