Beijing (PingWest) – Bytedance will give permissions for five minute videos in TikTok to knowledge-sharing authors, according to eeo.com. More specifically, the first tier of authors includes thirteen members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, 25 experts in different fields, and candidates who passed the first round of tests for TikTok’s short video science and knowledge-sharing contest.
This is a new experiment for TikTok as the app sees stagnating user growth due to a disappearing demographic dividend.
